Paul F. Pulse, II, 71 years of Springfield, formerly of Hillsboro, died Monday, September 9, 2002 at the Springfield Mercy Hospital.
He was born in Columbus, Ohio on December 25, 1930 the son of the late Paul F. and Elizabeth McCall Pulse, Sr.
He was a 1948 graduate of Hillsboro High School, a 1952 graduate of Ohio State University with a B.S. in Ag Engineering, and a 1953 graduate of the University of New Mexico in Meteorology. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict and the Viet-Nam Era. After retiring from military service he was an active farmer in Highland County for fifteen years. He was an avid camper. He was a former state Vice President for the Ohio FFA. He was a member of the National FFA Band. He received the State and American Farmer award. He was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, the 1980 Past Patron for the Hillsboro Chapter #444 O.E.S., the Highland Lodge #38 F. & A.M., a lifetime member of the Grand Chapter R.A.M. of Bermuda, lifetime member of the Grand Council R. & S.M. of Bermuda, the Highland Commandery #31 Knights Templar, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple of Columbus, Ohio, and a lifetime member of the N.R.A.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth Ann Pulse.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Ascham Pulse, who he married on July 27, 1952, son and daughter-in-law, Paul F. and Carol Colliver Pulse, III of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Stephen Moore of Okemos, Michigan, Elizabeth and Patrick Dominik of New Albany, Indiana, brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Joni Pulse of Hillsboro, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Thomas Duffe of Georgetown, Texas, Eleanor and David Ferguson of Austin, Texas, seven grandchildren, Jennifer and Bryan Dominik, Katherine and Kelsey Moore, Zachary, Jonathan, and Hannah Pulse.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with John Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home with Masonic and Ring Services held at 8:00 P.M.
