Dr. Paul R. "Doc" Yinger, 74 years of Hillsboro, died suddenly Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, FL.
He was born December 15, 1938 in Portsmouth, OH., the son of the late Franklin Paul and Jessie Oliver Yinger. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Yinger; step son, Joe West.
Doc was a graduate of New Boston High School and received his chiropractic degree from Palmer College. Doc had offices in Fairborn, Xenia, Dayton, Waverly and finally settled in Hillsboro where he lived at Rocky Fork Lake. He was a board member of the Enchanted Hills Subdivision; a driving force for the Thunder in the Hills power boat races held at Rocky Fork Lake; a Paul Harris Fellow Rotarian who had not missed a meeting in 21 years.
Doc served his country in the U.S. Army; was a life member of the Hillsboro AMVETS Post # 61, commander of the Highland County Honor Guard and member of the Hillsboro VFW Post # 9094.
On March 28, 1983 he was united in marriage to Wahnita McKee Yinger who survives. He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Glenn and Lori Yinger of Hillsboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Nichole and Gary Dickey of Hillsboro; step son, Tony Mary West of Wilmington; step daughter, Connie Fox; nine grandchildren, Amber Yinger, Derek Dee Yinger, Kelsey Dunham, Casey Dunham, Brad Daun Fox, Chad Fox, Bethany Ray Keefer, Tony West, Tabitha West, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 29, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard following services at the Thompson Funeral Home. Family requests memorials to the Highland County Honor Guard
