Pauline Humphreys Williams, age 89 passed away at the Laurels on October 25, 2011
Pauline of Hillsboro, was born in Highland County on Dec. 22, 1921 to Bailey Hoy Glaze and Samantha Pearl McIntyre Glaze. She was the youngest of six, Columbus, Virginia, Lewis, Herb who preceded her in death. She is survived by one sister, Florence Jane Wolfram of Cocoa, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest O. Humphreys, her second husband Guy J. Williams, her son Omar G. Humphreys and a granddaughter Sue Angela Shelton.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann Ronald Shelton of Beavercreek, Ohio and Jane Jack Stowers of Hillsboro, grandchildren, Sonya Shelton Brown of Beavercreek, Glenda Helterbrand Puckett and her husband David, Timothy Sherri Helterbrand of Hillsboro, and James R. Pagle Helterbrand of Dublin, Ohio, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Pauline had a beauty shop in Peebles in her youth and graduated from Ohio University, College of Education. She taught elementary school many years in Port Charlotte, Florida; Anderson, Indiana; Peebles and Locust Grove, Ohio. She was a member of the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church and later the Hillsboro Church of Christ. She was a painter and a member of the Senior Citizens Art Class, the Brush and Art Palette Guild, the Highland County Retired Teachers Association, previously the Adams County Retired Teachers Association. She was also a volunteer at the Highland District Hospital front desk for 13 years.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with John Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Sinking Spring.
Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 PM till 2:00 PM at the funeral home
