Philip "Phil" Eugene Wise

Philip Eugene "Phil" Wise, 75 years of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Phil was born February 25, 1947, in Indianapolis, IN., the son of the late Charles and Gracie (Yates) Wise. Beside his parents, Phil was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Montez Yvonne (Gant) Wise on April 27, 2014 and one sister, Lora Thompson.

Phil served his Country in the U. S. Army during the Viet Nam War. He worked in construction where he was a carpenter and flipped house. Phil had a passion for the outdoors where he loved to fish and hunt. Being a carpenter, Phil was a master woodworker. He enjoyed card games, especially rummy. Phil was a true believer in BIGFOOT.

Phil is survived by son, Michael (Jennifer) Oates of Hillsboro; step daughter, Myra Oates of Wilmington; grandson, Richie Lester; granddaughter, Jessica Nanney; brother, Charles N. (Sylvia) Wise of Indianapolis, IN.; and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Military Rites by the Highland County Honor Guard prior to services.

Jay Fabin will officiate services.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Monday in the Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, MS.
