Phyllis M. Ashburn, 78 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, May 6, 2011.
Phyllis was born August 21, 1932 at Port William, OH., the daughter of the late Rufus and Pauline Hurley Wical. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Louis "Louie" Ashburn on August 31, 1999, one daughter, Joyce Elaine Young, four sisters, Myrtle Melvin, Lucille Melvin, Kathleen Smith, Atha Brannon, one brother, Tom Wical.
Phyllis graduated from Blanchester High School in the Class of 1950, employed many years at Dayton Tire and Rubber. She was a member of the Marshall Church of Christ and Hillsboro AMVETS Post # 61 Ladies Auxiliary.
Phyllis is survived by one sister, Virginia Breakfield of Hillsboro, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Tom Stoops will officiate with burial to follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Port William, OH.
Friends may call Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Family request memorials to the Marshall Church of Christ or the American Cancer Society.
