Ralph Edwin Gillespie

Ralph Edwin Gillespie, Sr., 87 years of Peebles, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on July 17, 1918 the son of the late Howard and Ora Smith Gillespie.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Peebles Thompson-Wallingford American Legion Post #594.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Horner Gillespie, who passed away on July 22, 1990, and step daughter, Sharon Young.
He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Jeanette Gillespie of Mt. Orab, Donald and Brigitte Gillespie of Peebles, Jim Gillespie of Peebles, daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Tom Palmer of Peebles, Donna and Clif Kremins of Rarden, step son, Sonny Ewick of Peebles, step daughters, Patsy Bulius Mullins of Fairborn, Barb Perry of Peebles, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and several step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Rev. Marlyn Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Peebles Thompson-Wallingford American Legion Post #594, 122 N. Main Street, Peebles, OH 45660 or the Peebles Public Library, 157 High Street, Peebles, OH 45660.
