Ralph E. Holt, 72 years of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday January 1, 2020.
Ralph was born on the 12th of February 1947 in Hillsboro, Ohio, the son of the late Oscar Lee and Margaret (Thompson) Holt. Besides his parents, one sister, Charlotte Holt also preceded him.
Ralph served his Country in the U.S. Navy during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #129 in Hillsboro. After serving his Country, Ralph attended the Portsmouth Interstate Business College and received an Associates Degree. Ralph retired after 30 years of service from Verizon Telephone Company. After retirement, Ralph worked for Time-Warner Cable, Greystone Systems and served as the Safety Service Director for the City of Hillsboro for 8 years. After serving his Country and the City he resided in, Ralph became a driver for the Highland County Veterans Service where he received much joy and happiness in being of service to the brave men and women of Highland County who made the ultimate sacrifice of being willing to give there life for our Country. Ralph was a member of the Catholic Church where he was the past parish council president.
Ralph married his wife, Joyce Ann (Haley) Holt on November 6, 1970. Ralph and Joyce where blessed with two daughters, Sheri A. Holt of Westerville and Emily A. Holt of Columbus who survive; two grandsons, Andrew Holt Porter and Aiden William Holt; sister and brother-in-law, Garnet and Tom Wilkin and nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be 3:00pm Saturday January 11, 2020 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Prospect Cemetery with Military Rites will be conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
