Ralph Neill Jones

Ralph Neill Jones, 80 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the Kettering Medical Center.

He was born in Adams County, Ohio on July 26, 1922 the son of the late Charles William and Olive Foster Jones.

He retired in 1983 after forty-two years of service for Ohio Bell. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, where he served as financial secretary for many years. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and served on the Central Committee for the Highland County Republicans.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Foster Jones.

He was united in marriage on May 23, 1942 to Nina V. Hill Jones, who survives. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Debra Jones of Huber Heights, daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dr. David Shie of Dayton, four grandchildren, Casey Jones, Scott, Matthew, and Douglas Shie, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margene and Irvin Hoop of Sinking Spring, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church with Chuck Shonkwiler officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
