Ralph J. Peterson, 83 years old of Hillsboro, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at Heartland of Hillsboro.
He was born June 24, 1928 in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, the son of Walter A. and Pearl Seaman Peterson.
His wife Florence Criswell Peterson, whom he married June 4, 1942 in Georgetown, Ohio, preceded him in death on April 10, 1996.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School of Locust Grove, Ohio in the class of 1941.
He was a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the Air Corp. for 3 years. Prior to his foreign duty tour of 1 ½ years as a Control Tower Operator at Meeks Field, Keflavik, Iceland, he attended military schools at Sioux Falls, SD; Chanute Field, Rantoul, IL and Truax Field, Madison, WI.
Following his military service, he was employed at NCR Corp., Dayton, Ohio as an electronic technician. He retired from NCR after 32 1/2 years of service. He also retired Candle-Lite Corp. of Leesburg, Ohio where he was an employee of the maintenance from department.
Mr. Peterson was a member and past elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsboro, Ohio.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 21, 2005 at the Maplewood Cemetery in Ripley, Ohio. The Rev. Maurice Mitchell will officiate services. No visitation will be observed. Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio is in charges of arrangements.
