Ralph Allen Vanzant

Ralph Allen Vanzant the eldest son of Ralph Huggins and Margaret Evelyn nee Schraw Vanzant was born December 24, 1941 and passed away February 11, 2012.
He is survived by his wife Sharon nee Webster Vanzant and children, Mark LeslieVanzant, Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Eric Sherry Vanzant Lexington, KY, Lori Vanzant, Pickerington, OH, Kirk Theresa Vanzant, Lexington, KY., step-daughter Kimberly Steven J. Alexander, Hillsboro , OH. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, Lauren, Sandra, Kevin, Jaime, Kyle Lindsey, Kari, Eric, Matthew, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Sarah, Nathaniel and Colton and 3 great grandchildren, Kyra, Isiaih and Logan. He is also survived by his brother Dr. James R. Karen Vanzant and first Wife and special friend Elaine Felson Vanzant. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marilyn Vanzant and step-son David Chaney.
Ralph's career included the Safety and Service director for both cities of Hillsboro and Greenfield, was chief of the Ohio State Parks System, he taught at Shawnee State for their Parks and Recreation/Natural Resources program.
He was Vice President and General Manager for Revenue Consulting Inc. Upon Graduation from Ohio State University with a degree in Wildlife Biology he was employed by Oglebay Park, Wheeling, West Virginia, he also farmed the local family farm in the Rainsboro Community. He was also a Real Estate Agent and Auctioneer and was involved in various state and local organizations.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Maynard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Roads Cemetery at Rainsboro.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home
