Ray E. Barnes, 81 years of Florida, died Saturday, December 8, 2001 at Lake City, Florida.
He was born in Blue Creek, Ohio on May 30, 1920 the son of the late Milby and Esta Bailey Barnes.
He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by one son, Elwood Barnes of Batavia, one brother, Ernie Barnes of New Port Ritchie, Florida, three sisters, Marie Shoemaker of Peebles, Emma Hodson of Buzzard Bay, Massachusetts, Flossie Ralston of Peebles, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2001 at 12:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Danny Hayslip officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 till 12:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
