Ray Short, 91 years of Sinking Spring, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019.
Ray was born August 5, 1927 at Tipp City, OH., the son of the late Bert and Emma (White) Short. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Elizabeth (Copas) Short on September 27, 2014; one grandson, Teddy Short; three brothers, Raymond, Leo and Mark Short; one sister, Betty Short.
Ray worked for many years at Shanks Lumber Company.
Ray is survived by seven daughters, Janet Gohring of Waverly, Carolyn Short of Sinking Spring, Mary (Derrick) Knauff of Sinking Spring, Linda (Tim) Shoemaker of Peebles, Rhonda (Jim) White of Portsmouth, Alice Graham of Sinking Spring, Sarah McJunkin of Vandalia; three sons, Roy Stratton of Sardinia, Carl Short of Sinking Spring, Raymond Short of Latham; two sisters, Flossie Gall of Hillsboro, Florence Workman of Peebles; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring.
Pastor Greg Seaman will officiate with burial following in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Spring.
Friends may call Monday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
