Raymond Large, 90 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Thursday December 25, 2014 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown.
He was born in Greenup County, KY on September 27, 1924, the son of the late Brock and Pearl (Henson) Large. Besides his parents he was also preceded by his wife Florence (Drake) Large on November 13, 2012, daughter Connie Sue Myers and one grandson.
Raymond served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he received a Purple Heart, was a member of the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church, Life Member VFW Post #6560 in Dayton and Alpha Lodge #729 F& A.M. in Kettering.
He is survived by his son Steven Ray (Karen) Large of Middlebury, IN, daughter Linda (Tom) Holland of Hillsboro, brothers Thurman Large of Hillsboro, Kenneth Large of Hamilton, Louie Large of Portsmouth and Phillip Large of Ashland, KY; sisters Sharon Liles of South Shore, KY and Wanda Bartley of Plain City, 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. on Friday January 2, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call at 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Friday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
