Raymond J. Newman, 85 years of Seaman, Ohio, died Monday, February 4, 2008 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Milford, Illinois on February 27, 1922 the son of the late Charles J. and Harriett Grace Evans Newman.
He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Seaman Church of Christ.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son David Newman.
He is survived by his wife Lois Newman of Seaman, sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Kim Newman of Peebles and John and Angelena Newman of Seaman, daughters and sons-in-law Joyce McDowell of West Union, Carol and Stephen Thatcher of Seaman, Beth and Tim Rowley of Seaman, and Amy and Robbie Gabbart of West Union, daughter-in-law Marilyn Newman of West Union, brother Russell Newman of Seaman, sisters Ruth Storer of Peebles and Lucille Grooms of Seaman, fifteen grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Chris Gobin officiating. Burial will follow in Tranquility Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope IPC, 215 Hughes Blvd. Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154.
