Raymond J. Swartz, 93 years of Hillsboro, died on Sunday February 17, 2013 at Georgetown Ohio Veterans Home.
He was born in Highland County on June 19, 1919, he is the son of the late Warren and Hazel Mock Swartz. Besides his parents he is preceded by his
1st. wife Betty Jean Barker Swartz on May 13, 1995, 2nd wife Ella Faye Deaton-Swartz on January 9, 2010; five sisters, Neva Green, Goldie Swartz, Sylvia Swartz, Mildred Pauley, Martha Hodge and one brother, Maynard Swartz.
Raymond was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ, retired from Williamson Safe Co., and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his step daughter, Georgia Carr of Wilmington, OH., step-son James Deaton of Maple City, MI., several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with John Porter officiating. Burial will follow with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard at the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday at 12:00 P.M. until time of service at the Funeral Home.
