Rena Francis Basford, 91, of Winchester, Ohio passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at her residence.
Several members of her family were at her bedside.
She was born on December 19, 1921 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. The daughter of William and Gertrude Ellison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Basford, sons Gerald and Malachi, and grandson Nicholas Basford. Sisters Vivian Stanley Ramey, Jewel Les Griener and Cloma Don Vanetta. Also brothers Lawrence Leura Ellison, Versie Vesta Ellison, John Margaret Ellison, and Walter Ellison.
She is survived by one sister Bonnie George Willman. Sons Goble Inez Basford, Gary Candee Basford, William Bill Basford, and Randy Basford. Daughters Barbara Ron Hedger and Debbie Carlos Farrell. She loved and was loved by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Rena was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. She loved farm life, gardening, and enjoying nature from her sunroom.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Brother Karl Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Leigh Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
Donations may be made to Hospice of Hope, 215 Hughes Blvd. Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154.
