Richard L. Cannon

Richard L. Cannon, 87 years of Samantha Community, died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Highland District Hospital. He was born July 10, 1925 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Ferris L. and Elva Morrow Cannon. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Cannon. He was a member of the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church, an Army/Air Force Veteran of W.W. II, a Penn Township Trustee for 22 years and retired from the American Tool Company in 1991.

On May 12, 1945 he was united in marriage to Jayne Clifton Cannon who survives. Beside his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Connie Cannon of the Samantha Community, Brad Cannon of Aberdeen, OH; seven grandchildren, Chad Lisa Cannon, Dan Becky Cannon, Joey Casey Enoch's, Mitzi Cannon, Bradley Cannon, Jesse Cannon, Sean Cannon; five great grandchildren, Addison Cannon, Emma Cannon, Samara Cannon, Tytis Cannon, Will Enoch's. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the Samantha Methodist Cemetery at 11:00 AM with Rev. Wiley Perkins officiating. Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of Arrangements.
