Richard Albert Pony Davies, 84 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, April 26, 2004 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born in Hillsboro, Ohio on November 10, 1919 the son of the late Richard O. and Anna E. Galbaugh Davies.
He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the F.O.E. Aerie #1161. He retired in 1975 after thirty-three years of service from Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
He was united in marriage on February 28, 1975 to Mary Martha Shoemaker Davies, who preceded him in death on September 24, 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruth Wilkin, Anna Liscrando, and three brothers, Walter, Oakley, and Robert O. Davies.
He is survived by two sisters, Mae Jane Pence of Hillsboro, Mildred Lemon of Hillsboro, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Pauline Shoemaker of Hillsboro, sister-in-law, Maggie Shoemaker of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
