Richard J. Dick Hasselbeck, 78 years, died Friday, January 24, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro, Ohio.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 23, 1924 the son of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Landewich Hasselbeck.
He was an Army Air-Corp veteran during World War II serving with the Flying Tigers. He was a member of the Flying Tigers Association. He retired as an Engineer from Alcoa in Sidney, Ohio.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Yula Lear Hasselbeck, his second wife, Bonnie Dee Holt Hasselbeck, one son, Phillip Hasselbeck, and three brothers, Don, Bobby, and Jimmy Hasselbeck.
He is survived by four sons and one daughter-in-law, Peter Hasselbeck of Sidney, Ohio, Paul Hasselbeck of St. Petersburg, Florida, David Hasselbeck of Sidney, Joe and Lori Hasselbeck of Cheyenne, Wyoming, two daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Darren Hampshire of New Weston, Ohio, Mary and Dr. Ron Zile of Sardinia, Ohio, one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Carol Hasselbeck of Dent, Ohio, two sisters-in-law, Vivian Hasselbeck of Cincinnati, Erika Hasselbeck of Dent, eighteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Memorial funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady of the Visitation.
Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
