Richard "Dick" Shaw, 79 years of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born at Marshall, Ohio on November 9, 1931 the son of the late Ervin and Leone Siders Shaw. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Shaw, one grandson.
Dick was a member of the Eagles, Aerie 1161, VFW 9094, Amvets Post #61, Past Exalted Ruler, BPOE Lodge #361; Retired from Jeans Flowers after 50 years, Served in the US Navy during the Korean conflict.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Willey Shaw of Hillsboro, one son, Randy K. Terry Shaw, one daughter, Mitzi Brian Smith of Hillsboro, three step sons, Daryl Kim Meyerenkee of Cincinnati, Kenneth Sue Boatman of Hillsboro, Gary Boatman of Hillsboro, one step daughter, Andrea Brown of Hillsboro, two brothers, Hugh Wayne Doris Shaw of Hillsboro, Bill Donna Shaw of South Carolina, one sister, Juanita Smart of Peebles, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, special friends, Tom & Rita Wurtzbach of Hillsboro, Claire & Margaret Whitford of Hillsboro, numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Family and Friends
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Tom Stoops officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside services by the Highland County Honor Guard in the Prospect Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home
