Robert E. Brown

Robert E. "Bob" Brown, 81 of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at the Ohio Veterans Home at Georgetown.
He was born in Rainsboro, Ohio on August 16, 1931 the son of the late Jesse and Gladys Newkirk Brown. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Nesbit Brown on May 10, 1999; four brothers, Paul Brown, Clarence Woodrow Brown, John Brown, and Cecil Brown; one sister, Mildred Swisshelm.
He retired from U.S.P.S at the Hillsboro office in 1988, an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the DAV.
He is survived by two sons, Bob Brown and Greg Brown both of Hillsboro; one sister, Ann Jordan of Hillsboro; sister-in-law, Norma Brown of Peebles, three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Mildred Nesbitt of Hillsboro, Kenneth Nesbitt of Wilmington, Tom and Martha Nesbit of Hillsboro, three sister-in-laws, Mary Lou Pfeffer of Hillsboro, Alice Runyon of Hillsboro and Beverly Nesbitt of Hillsboro and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M on Tuesday, January 8 , 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Burial will follow in the New Market Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday January 7, 2013 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Highland County Humane Society or Highland County Dog Pound Volunteer Program.
