Robert David Carter, Sr., age 64, of Lucasville, OH., died Thursday, February 22, 2018 at his residence.
He was born July 18, 1953 in Hamilton County, OH., the son of the late Elijah Paul and Mary June (LeVan) Carter. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest Paul Carter and several nephews.
Robert worked for years at sawmills in the Piketon and Jasper, Ohio area. Robert loved playing the guitar, singing telling stories of places he had traveled and things he had done in his life. He enjoyed fishing, working on things and building his ideas, but most of all he loved his family.
Robert was united marriage on July 18, 1980 to Darlene (Gray) Carter who survives; two sons, Robert David Carter, Jr. and Elijah Paul Carter at home; one brother, Russell (Linda) Carter of Piketon, OH.; eight sisters, Linda (Bill) Reynolds of FL., Nancy (Tim) Shuster of Marion, OH., Marie (Basil) Lansing of Peebles, OH., Delpha (Jerry) Hammonds of West Portsmouth, OH., Mary (Steve) Brumfield of Marion, OH., Thelma (Tom) Augustine of Ontario, OH., Violet (Chuck) Swain of Lucasville, OH., Margaret (Gerald) Madden of Peebles, OH.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, OH.
Rev. Jeff May will officiate with burial following in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Visitations will be from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
