Robert G. Rankin

Robert G. "Rob" Rankin, 56 years of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday December 5, 2021.

Rob was born December 2, 1965 in Wilmington, Ohio, the son of Delbert and Sharon (Storer) Rankin. He was preceded by his father, Delbert Rankin and sister-in-law, Cindy Oppy-Hall.

Rob was a 1984 graduate of Hillsboro High School and attended Miami-Jacobs College. He also worked at Weastec several years, prior to working at New Sabina Industries. Rob work with his dad as well, hanging drywall which Delbert was well known in this area.

On November 28, 1987, Rob was united in marriage to his wife, Barbara (Oppy) Rankin whom survives; one son, Joey Rankin of Hillsboro; one daughter, Marissa (Blade) Bennett of Leesburg; four grandchildren, Summer Rankin, Emma Rankin, Ryder Bennett and Easton Bennett; mother, Sharon (Storer) Rankin of Hillsboro; brother, Randy Rankin of Hillsboro; father & mother-in-law, Wayne & Lavina Oppy of Hillsboro; nephews, Scott (Angie) Hall and Gregg (Courtney) Hall; and a host of friends.


Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 11, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at the Stringtown Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until time 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 11, 2021 at Thompson Funeral Home.
