Roland R. Stewart

Roland R. Stewart, 72 years of Peebles, died Monday, January 19, 2004 at his residence.

He was born in Adams County, Ohio on June 27, 1931 the son of the late Howard and Faye Brownlee Stewart.

He was a retired Colonel in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam Era. He was Chief of the Food, Dairy & Drug Division of Ohio, received a Veterinarian Medical Degree, and received a Master Degree from Purdue University.

He is survived by his wife, Marge Nawman Stewart, who he married on August 22, 1952, son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Melody Stewart of Peebles, daughters and sons-in-law, Jacquette and Fred Smalley of Texas, Rowena and Tim Hayslip of Georgetown, Aletha and Gary La Coste of Amelia, sister, Barabara Hayes of Bellevue, Kentucky, seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, two step grandchildren, and step father, Buss Huffman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the Brushcreek Baptist Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
