Ron Porter, age 63 of Peebles, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
He was born in Highland County, Ohio on March 28, 1950.
He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Porter.
Ron attended Locust Grove Faith Community Church and was a member of the Ohio National Guard.
He is survived by his mother, Stella Porter Greene of Hillsboro; wife, Nadine Bracken Porter of Peebles whom he married on June 24, 1995; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Christina Porter of Peebles, Jed and Alisha Porter of Peebles, and Ethan Porter of Fort Myers, Florida; one step son, Shawn and Jennifer Swayne of Peebles; one step daughter, Linette Swayne of Peebles; two brothers, Al Porter of Peebles and Mark Porter of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Ramona Davidson of Miamisburg and Kathy Martin of Hebron, Kentucky; and six grandchildren, Tyler, Jaiden, Zane, Landon, Kyser, and Celene.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Locust Grove Faith Community Church with Gary Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the church.
Memorials may be made to Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Midwestern Regional Medical Center Gateway for Cancer Research or Assistance in Heath Care 2520 Elisha Avenue Zion, IL 60099
