Rosezella "Rose" Waterman, 98 years, passed away on December 29, 2015 in Annapolis, Maryland.
She lived with her family in Maryland: Bob, Betty, Shannon, Eric, Kate, and Rosie Hemming, for the past four years.
She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 26, 1917 to Oscar Wayne Dugger and Sophia Weaver Cooper. Rose is one of six children and the only one to reach age 98! She was educated at North College Hill Grade school and Mt. Healthy High School.
She was a machinist at Crane Naval Weapons in Indiana making components for torpedoes. During "The War," she met Myron Hemming and they corresponded while he was in Europe.
Rose and Myron married in 1946 but she refused a honeymoon and used the money to put electric service in their home! To this union they had a son, Robert J. Hemming. After 20 years of marriage, Myron passed away.
Rose very much enjoyed being the head cook at Western Local High School in Latham, Ohio. During this time, she met Elbert (Bill) Waterman, whom she had previously known, and they were married for 24 years.
Rose and Bill had a large family and everyone called her Grandma. She enjoyed cooking, visiting, playing cards, Leighton Chapter #521 O.E.S., and Church.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Bainbridge Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the East cemetery in Latham, Ohio.
