Russell Helterbrand

Russell Helterbrand, 89 years of the Carmel community, died Saturday, March 14, 2009. .
He was born in Highland Co, OH on Oct. 15, 1919 the son of the late Clarence and Sarah GrovesHelterbrand.
Mr. Helterbrand attended #5 school and was a member of the Cynthiana Church of Christ in Christian Union. Mr. Helterbrand was an Army Veteran of WWII, retired carpenter, owned and operated a sawmill and was a life long farmer.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Jimmy Joe and Lula Miller, also five brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years DorothyMiller Helterbrand, one daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Bob Garen of Carmel, two sons and daughter-in-laws Wilbur and Barbara Helterbrand and Glenn and May Helterbrand both of Carmel, 7 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and two brothers, Alvin Helterbrand of Hillsboro and Follis Helterbrand of Bowersville.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. David Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Community Care Hospice.
