Russell E. Myers, 75 years of West Union, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 at his residence.
He was born in Seaman, Ohio on July 8, 1932 the son of the late Noble and Ethel Goodwin Myers.
He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict, a member of the I.B.E.W. Local #575 in Portsmouth, Ohio, and a member of the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Pugh Myers, who passed away on February 15, 2008, sons Kenneth Myers and Russell Junior Myers, two brothers, and three sisters.
He is survived by sons and daughter-in-law Noble and Mary Myers of West Union and Donald Preston of West Union, daughters and sons-in-law Marlene and John Newman of Peebles, Mary and Tony West of Wilmington, and Nadine and Terry Sowards of Peebles, brothers Bob Myers of Laurel, Ohio and Jerry Myers of Peebles, sisters Martha Crothers of Peebles, Sharon Short of Alabama, Janet Berry of Columbus, Connie Jamison of Peebles, Bonnie Cline of Peebles, and Juanita Murfin of Idaho, Ohio, sixteen grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Richard Lloyd and Kenny Back officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery with a military graveside service by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
