Russell Eugene "Gene" Newman, 81 of Peebles, passed away Monday January 13, 2020.
Russell was born on February 10, 1938 in Otway, OH, the son of the late Jesse and Ica Pearl (Spence) Newman. Besides his parents his daughter, Bonnie Jean Newman, granddaughter, Stacey Renee Elliot, seven brothers and two sisters also preceded him.
Russell retired from Dravo Lime in Maysville, Kentucky, and he married his wife, Ruth Ann (Shoemaker) Newman, October 22, 1958. Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Ronnie (Sylvia) Newman of Peebles, daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Puckett of Hillsboro, Donna (John) Jones of Hillsboro, Becky (Ty) of Hillsboro and Susan (Tony) Powell of Peebles, 28 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 3 on the way, and sisters, Bertha Edenfield of Winchester, Norma Hilterbrand of West Union and Judy Leeth of Hillsboro.
Graveside Service will be 1:00pm Thursday January 16, 2020 at the Locust Grove Cemetery.
