Ruth Ann Allen, 65 years of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at her residence.
She was born October 24, 1944, the daughter of the late Forest L. and Norma Jean Dodds Hill. Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one brother Jim Hill, father-in-law Charles Allen and a sister-in-law Nancy Allen House.
Ruth Ann was a member of the Hillsboro First Baptist Church and was very devoted to her family and a love for horses.
On March 5, 1965 she was united in marriage to Gary L. Allen who survives. She is also survived by daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and Herb Bowman of Hillsboro, two brothers and sister-in-law, John Hill of Hillsboro, Richard and Kathy Hill of Kettering, mother-in-law Opal Allen of Lynchburg, sister-in-law Dianne Allen of Hillsboro, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Gale and Katrina Allen of Lynchburg, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ronnie and Melba Allen of Lynchburg, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rodney and Denise Allen of Lynchburg, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Rita and Vince Holmes of Lynchburg, sister in-law Anita Buchreitz of Lynchburg, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Randy and Rhonda Allen of Lynchburg, several nieces, nephews, a host of cousins and two grand dogs Bailey and Mac..
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Hillsboro First Baptist Church, 127 South West Street, Hillsboro.
Burial will follow in the Bridges Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
