Ruth Iona Brown passed June 7, 2012 at the Colony Nursing Home in Columbus, OH.
She was born on February 20, 1914 in Clermont County to Samuel and Emyra Brewer Mallott and she was the youngest of their five children. Ruth married Charles Herbert Brown on June 24, 1934 and they had two children, Wayne Brown of Green Valley, AZ. Sylvia and Joy Temple of Hillsboro, OH. deceased Joe.
Also mourning her passing are her six grandchildren, Cindy, Donald, Tony, Alex, Jennifer and David, five great grand children, Chris, Erica, Chelsey, Logan, Leah, Alex, Brandon, Gaven and one great great grandchild Emery.
She lived in Highland and Brown Counties where she and Herbert raised their children. Although both of them were deaf, they were very hard workers and wonderful parents who encouraged both children to accomplish graduation from college. In 1978 she and Herbert moved to Salem, OR. to be with their son Wayne. She was a loving mother and grandmother and a wonderful cook. The family looked forward to spending time at their home and her positive influence will have a lasting effect on all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by all.
Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, OH.
Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation with family will be Saturday June 16, 2012 from 1:30 P.M. to 2:00P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
