Ruth Burton, 93 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at her residence.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio on April 22, 1915 the daughter of the late Benson and Mary Morris Bussey.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband L. Earl Burton in 1978. Son & daughter-in-law James & Sue Burton, and sister Katherine Day.
Ruth was a member of the Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church, member of the Highland County Children & Adult Board for 30 years, DOFA for 66 years, Clear Creek Farm Bureau Council for 40 years, Board of Farm Bureau for 20 years, Farm Bureau Women's Committee for 12 years and a 4H Club Leader for 34 years. She enjoyed needle work, sewing, crafts and church circles.
She is survived by two sons & daughters-in-law Dale & Ginnie Burton of Cincinnati, OH, and Roger & Lois Burton of Cincinnati, OH. Two sisters Caroline Rhoads of Hillsboro, OH, and Charlotte Murray of Lynchburg, OH. Seven grandchildren Patty Steve Shelton of Greenfield, OH, Sherill Greg Schottelkotte of Greenfield, OH, Rosie Mark Bates of Leesburg, OH, Heather Jeff Hastings of Cincinnati, OH, Ryan Michele Burton of Cincinnati, OH, Tim Karen Burton of Cincinnati, OH, Brian Donna Burton of Cincinnati, OH.. Eleven great grandchildren, and a special friend Linda Harrington.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio with Rev. Chuck Schokwiler officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1:00 till 5:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
