Ruth Chaney

The vibrant and beloved Ruth Chaney, born on April 15, 1937, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2024.. A treasured member of the Locust Grove Wesleyan Tabernacle Church, Ruth devoted her life to her family and faith. With a strong commitment to her community and church, she served in various roles such as a Sunday school teacher, secretary, treasurer, and board member. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Knauff and Agnes (Hayslip) Knauff Vanpelt, husband, Dwight Chaney on June 26, 2000, daughter, Patty Cox, brothers, Maxie, Wylie and Charles Knauff, sisters, Inez McCleese, Irene Puckett and stepfather, Oscar Vanpelt. Graduating from Sinking Spring High School in 1955, Ruth cherished her education and continued her love for learning throughout her life. In addition to her dedication to her church, Ruth also served as a trustee for Bruch Creek Township for two years, leaving a lasting impact on those around her.
