Ruth Evelyn Crabtree, 68 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday, September 6, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital.
She was born in Floyd County, Ohio on February 5, 1934 the daughter of James and Florence Alexander Sluss.
Beside her parents she is preceded in death by husband Jimmie Ray Crabtree, two daughters, Penny and Joyce Crabtree, two sons, Curtis and Elmer Crabtree, three brothers, Jessie, Doug and Thurman Sluss, three sisters, Mary Wilcox, Janice Jennings, and Imogene Music.
She is survived by her husband Ernie Short, four daughters and sons-in-law Carrie Haskill of Hillsboro, Anita and Jeff Trisdale of Hillsboro, Lisa and Junior Carmack of Peebles, Djuna ?Donna? and Dave Shoop of Hillsboro one brother, John Sluss of Hillsboro, one sister, Dorothy Pollard of Hillsboro, fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Billy Shaffer and Ken Workman officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardnes.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-
