Sheila L. Strain, 48 years of Hillsboro, died Friday, August 22, 2008.

She was born in Hillsboro, Ohio on January 5, 1960 the daughter of John Robert and Juanita L. Osborne Strain.

She was preceded in death by maternal Grandmother Beatrice Nellie Osborne, maternal grandfather George Herbert Osborne, paternal grandmother Louanna Brandenburg, paternal grandfather John Wesley Strain, and life partner P. Dale Browning.

Sheila worked as a long-term care nurse for more than twenty-five years holding such positions as floor nurse, Care Plan Coordinator, Staff Development Coordinator, Train the Trainer and eventually settling into Nursing Director. She worked for the Laurels of Hillsboro for many years. She always said, "Geriatric nursing is my life, passion and calling."

Besides her parents she is survived by one daughter & son-in-law Sarah & William "Pat" Ryan of Lynchburg, OH. Three brothers & sister-in-law Wayne & Melissa Strain of Benton, KY, John Strain of Indianapolis, IN, Barry Strain of Washington C.H., OH. Two sisters & brother-in-laws Debbie & Phil Kiser of Washington C.H., OH, and Sherry & Denny Marston of Lebanon, OH. One god-daughter Jill M. Wells Toca of Gatlinburg, TN. Two grandchildren Morgan and Devyn Ryan. Three nieces Chris Kiser of Washington C.H., OH, Stacey Marston of Lebanon, OH, and Lauren Strain of Benton, KY. Two nephews Joshua Marston of Lebanon, OH, and Cobly Strain of Benton, KY. Family friends: Willie & Imogene Hollon of Hillsboro, OH, Vonda Young of Hillsboro, OH, Rhenda Nickell of Lynchburg, OH, Judy Achor of Hillsboro, OH, Chuck & Chris Bates of Blanchester, OH, and her entire Laurels of Hillsboro family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at 12:00 P.M. at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Tom Zile and Minister Bob Stevens officiating.

Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home and Tuesday 11:00 till the time of service at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene.
