Shirley Lucas

Shirley L. Lucas, 94 years of the Sugartree Ridge Community, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025.

Shirley was born on October 9, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert Roy and Thelma (Baugh) Greene. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Burnett D. "Dud" Lucas on February 9, 2017; son, Terry Lucas, granddaughter, Danielle Gayhart: brother, Robert "Bob" Greene, sister, Dorothy "Dot" Roush.

Shirley dedicated her life to her family, with whom she shared countless cherished moments. She delighted in family gatherings where laughter echoed and stories were shared. Her joy for life was evident in her passions, which included bingo, camping, square dancing, and traveling. She explored the world with an adventurous spirit, always eager to create memories with her loved ones.

Shirley is survived by her precious children, daughter, Cindy (Billy England) Lucas of Winchester, and sons, Burnett "Bernie" (Beckie) Lucas of Centerville, Phillip (Nancy) Lucas of Winchester, and Daniel (Becky) Lucas of Winchester; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lucas of Leesburg; grandchildren, Missy (Bryan) Gamble, Adam (Ria) Megnin, Danielle, deceased (Frank) Gayhart, Jacobey Lucas, Drew Lucas, Clinton (Casey) Lucas, Skyelyn (Tirrell) Cumberland, Donnie (Terrell) Ward, Jamie Lucas, Carly Haines, Casey Polley, Chase Polley, Barry (Gina) Lucas, Deric (Jessica) Lucas, Damon (Tonya) Lucas, Justin (Mary) Lucas, Mandy Pelfrey and Josh Walker, 37 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Joan Greene of Winchester; nieces, nephews, cousins and host of friend.

In honoring Shirley's vibrant spirit, graveside services will be at the convenience of the family at the Sugartree Ridge Cemetery.

As we say goodbye, we find peace in knowing that Shirley's love will forever remain in our hearts.

A celebration of life for Dud and Shirley will be announced later.
