On Sunday July 21, 2024, Sondra Jane Leibreich was reunited with the love of her life, Norman Leibreich, Jr., who passed away on Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021.
Sondra was born in Meigs Township on June 14, 1941, the daughter of the late Edward and Audrey (McFarland) Lykins, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Copas and her brother, Edward Lykins. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Connie Lykins of Peebles, nieces Elizabeth (Ummad Aslam) Lykins of Columbus, Rebecca (Garth) Gould of Canberra Australia, and Tricia Copas of Canberra Australia, and nephews Jonathan and Matthew Copas both of West Union.
Norman was born in Cincinnati on May 16, 1941, the son of the late Norman and Dorotha (Jay) Leibreich, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister. Norman is survived by four brothers and four sisters as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A man of selflessness and gratitude, Norman served in the Air National Guard for his country and was an avid sailor at Cowan Lake for many years. Sondra was a woman of grace and elegance, a beacon of knowledge fueled by a great love of the Victorian Era. Through their involvement with the Highland County Historical Society, Norman and Sondra brought to life the essence of a bygone era, captivating audiences with their presentations that reflected the grandeur of the past.
The family will honor their lives at a graveside service that has been scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 8, at 12 p.m. at the Evergreen Cemetery in Peebles, Ohio; Father Mike Paraniuk will officiate.
