Stacy Day was born on March 3, 1904 in Adams County and passed away on June 2, 2001 at Edgewood Manor in Lucasville.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles W. and Hannah Lillian MillerWalls along with her
brother Elza Walls and her only child Eldon PeteNewman.
Stacy owned and operated a beauty shop on Highland Ave in Portsmouth for many years and after her retirement she was a residence of the
Alexander House. She was a member of the Christ Communty church,the James Dickey Post #23 Auxiliary of Portsmouth where she served over 50 years in various offices.
She is survived by her daugahter-in-law, Lorriane Newman of McDermott, Grandchildren, Vera Newman Osborne of Indianapolis, IN, Charlie Newman of Lucasville, Ann Newman Cable of Lucasville, four great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, two nieces, Dorothy Henize, Jean Ann Green both of Peebles, two nephews, Archie Walls of Dayton, Charles Walls of Louisville, KY
several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Ron Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
