Stanley Young, 91 years of Arizona, formerly of Peebles, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Scottsdale Nursing and Rehab Center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was born in Newport, Kentucky on June 28, 1917 the son of the late Floyd and Carrie Nelson Young.
Stanley was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Catherine Lewis Young, who passed away on November 16, 1994.
He is survived by his son Jim Young of Monroe, Michigan, four daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy and Stewart Norrman of Clarksville, Ohio, Linda and Larry Britton of Monroe, Michigan, Martha and Dave Kruse of Scottsdale, Arizona, and Ellen and Denny Carr of Scottsdale, Arizona, brother John Young of Ocala, Florida, two sisters; Vera Miller of Peebles and Jean Woods of Columbus, Ohio, and twelve grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Tim Carter and Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union; the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
