Stephen E. Carter Sr., 62 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at the Miami Valley Hospital.
He was born in Hillsboro on August 13, 1951, the son of the late William T. and Diena Margaret Wolfe Carter. Besides his parents he is also preceded by one son Jeremiah Maxwell Carter, two sisters Margaret Clemmons and Ruth Ann Shoemaker and three brothers Mike, Allen and Don Carter.
Stephen was a lifetime member of the AMVETS Post #61 of Hillsboro.
He is survived by his wife Marlene Carter of Hillsboro, sons William Carter and Stephen Carter Jr. of Hillsboro, daughters Semara Michael Gibson of Tiffin, OH and Nicole McCleese of Williamsburg, OH, brothers William T. Carter, Jr. of Chillicothe and Edward Deal Carter of Hillsboro, sisters Judy Green of Hillsboro and Eleanor Detty of Kentucky and nine grandchildren, Donald Carter, Diena Carter, Brookelyn Carter, Stephen Carter III, Jeremiah Carter, Erica Carter, Perry Gibson, Michael Gibson Jr. and Allen Gibson.
Funeral Services will be 4:00 P.M. Saturday April 5, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Lamb officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Belfast with military rites by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until time of service on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home.
