Sterling McCoy, 94 years of Peebles, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Peebles, Ohio on September 17, 1917 the son of the late Earl and Ivy Jones McCoy.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Smith McCoy who passed away in 1988 and one daughter Shirley McCoy.
Sterling attended Old Rarden Baptist Church and he was an Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Bob and Yoly McCoy of Sacramento, California, three daughters; Carol and Bob Copeland of Washington Court House, Peggy Terry of Lewisburg, Ohio, and Beverly and Don Hudson of Nitro, West Virginia, one brother and sister-in-law; Vayne and Helen McCoy of Peebles, 15 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Phil Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Harmon Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
