Sylvia M. Hurn, 83 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, November 8, 2007 at Greenfield Area Medical Center in Greenfield, Ohio.
She was born in Alger, Ohio on February 18, 1924 the daughter of the late Harry and Myrtle Nichols Coppler.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James R. Hurn in 1999, daughter Shirley Ann Hurn, son-in-law Donald R. Chapman, and ten brother and sisters.
Sylvia worked many years at the Rocky Fork Truck Stop Restaurant. She also owned and operated Young?s Bait & Tackle for eleven years.
She is survived by daughter Barbara Jean Chapman of Hillsboro, Ohio. Brother Delmar Nichols of Michigan. Grandson James E. Leslie Purtee. Great granddaughter Jordyn Purtee. Nine step children, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Wayne Barker officiating. Burial will follow in the Hulitt Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
