Thelma Jean Carter, 65 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on February 9, 1939 the daughter of the late John and Candus Johnson Gross.
She owned and operated T.J. Enterprise, which was a roofing and fencing company that served Highland County for several years.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Catherine Jean Carter.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Jughead Carter of Hillsboro, sons and daughter-in-law, John Carter of Seaman, Donal Carter of Hillsboro, David and Pam Carter of Hillsboro, Jerry Carter of Seaman, daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Lowell Page of Hillsboro, Carolyn and Anthony Smith of Lynchburg, Nancy and Paul Lanter of Mowrystown, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Mary Gross of Hillsboro, A. John and Jeanie Gross of Hillsboro, Clifford and Marylen Gross of Seaman, Keith and Barbara Gross of Hillsboro, sisters and brothers-in-law, Fannie Marie Bennington of Hillsboro, Michelle and Bill Kuhn of Sardis, Kentucky, Cathy and Larry Bombac of Cleveland, life long friends, Wes and Cheryl Hart and family, Harold and Janice Beath, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Bible Believers Baptist Church, 7011 Ervin Road, Hillsboro with Ron Harris officiating, the body will lie in state from 1:00 PM until service time on Friday at the Bible Believers Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the New Market Baptist Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
