Thomas R. Tom Bierer, 69 years of Hillsboro, Ohio, died Friday, May 10, 2002 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born in Morganstown, West Virginia on February 19, 1933 the son of the late James E. and Viola Blanche Taylor Bierer.
He was baptized on November 9, 1986. He attended the Greater Life Assembly. He was a porter for Frisch?s Restaurant. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Lenora Wolfe, Olive Reeder, and Loretta Beward.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Balestra Bierer of Hillsboro, who he married on July 3, 1977, two sons and daughter-in-law, Michael and Beverly Bierer of Cleveland, Jeff Bierer of Cleveland, daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Greig Nicholson of Wheeling, West Virginia, one step son, Samuel Mary Balestra of Wheeling, West Virginia, two step daughters, Theresa Chris Hoover of Hillsboro, Paula Richard Fulling of Dayton, brother, Ernest Bierer of Cleveland, two sisters, Mary Ference of Bobtown, Pennsylvania, Margaret Vincie of Dilliner, Pennsylvania, and six grandchildren, Nikki Bierer, Stephanie Perkins, Greg Perkins, Kyle Perkins, and Bradley and Brittany Balestra.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Lloyd Red Gallimore officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 5:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
