Thurman Clayton Harp, 79 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday January 5, 2015 at the OSU Medical Center.
He was born in Algood, TN on May 3, 1935, the son of the late Willie and Verna (Whitaker) Harp. Besides his parents he was also preceded by three brothers; Paul, David and Raymond, two sisters; Ann and Fannie and granddog Sadie Girl.
Thurman was a retired carpenter, a U.S. Veteran, a member of Mt. Washington Church of Christ and an avid fisherman.
He is survived by his "Best Girl", of 17 years, Joy M. Fryman of New Market, two sons, Kirk Harp of Kentucky and Vincent (Amanda) Fryman of Hillsboro, four daughters; K. Susie (Jake) Hall of Chillicothe, Joy "Kat" (Jerry) Huffman of Hillsboro, Tracy West of Indianapolis and Elizabeth Johnston of Miamisburg; one sister Ruby Anderson of Toledo, three grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Webb, Megan Dennis and Ryan Huffman, two great grandchildren, Abigail and Serena and several nieces, nephews and host of friends.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday January 8, 2015 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Market Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call at 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home.
