Thurman Large

Thurman Large, 93 years of Brookville, passed away on Monday April 18, 2016 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

He was born in Letitia, KY on September 18, 1922, the son of the late Brock and Pearl (Henson) Large. Besides his parents he was also preceded by his brother, Raymond Large.

Thurman served in the United States Army, retired from General Motors in 1976 after 30 years of service, was the Past Master of the Beaver Valley Lodge #753 F. & A.M. Beaver Creek, OH, Past High Priest of Rabboni Chapter #232 of Fairborn, OH, Hillsboro Council 16 R. & S.M. and Hillsboro Commandery #31.

Thurman is survived by his wife, Lois (Howland) Large, whom were married on September 22, 1946, son, Roger Large, daughter Deborah (Thomas) Frederick, three half-brothers, Kenneth Large, Louie Large and Phillip Large; two half-sisters, Sharon Liles and Wanda Bartley; three grandchildren, Lora Shuttleworth, Pamela (Marlen) Bourne and Tessa (Anthony) Slominski, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 2:30 PM Thursday April 21, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call at 12:30 PM until time of service on Thursday at the Thompson Funeral Home with a Masonic Service to start at 2:30 PM.
