Vada Brown Lewis, 81 years of Hillsboro, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at the University Hospital in Cincinnati.
She was born in Otsego County, Michigan on September 8, 1924 the daughter of the late Dennie and Annie Skeans Brown.
She worked for Highland County Community Action for several years prior to her retirement from Highland County Domestic Violence Agency.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Helterbrand, and her second husband, Clayton Lewis, one step son, Eugene Helterbrand, one step daughter, Mildred Turner, one brother, Earl Brown and one sister, Sylvia Brown.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Ann and David Burns of Hillsboro, two step sons, Bill Helen Helterbrand of Hillsboro, Michael Lewis of Kentucky, two step daughters, Gloria Ford of Hillsboro, Edna Howard of Springdale, Arkansas, four grandchildren: Jennifer Keith Baker, Charles Eric Mary Morgan, Sean Kirby Burns all of Hillsboro and Timothy Angie Burns of Shelbyville, TN., 2 step grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Murphy of Hillsboro, two brothers, Ernest Brown of Heron, Montana, Robert Brown of Spokane, Washington.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Richard Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
