Velma M. West, 91 years of Hillsboro died Wednesday July 18, 2012.
She was born in Adams County, Ohio on January 10, 1921 the daughter of the late
William and Una Simmons Wylie. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence West on July 12, 1971; one brother Howard Wylie, two sisters Loree Tumbleson and Mary Baldwin.
Velma was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Ervin and Margaret West of Hillsboro; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and John Naylor of Lynchburg, and Wanda and Marion Foster of Hillsboro; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Duane Michael of Hillsboro, Wandalee and Eddie Moore of Winchester, OH.; six grandchildren, David Jackie Naylor, Jim Becky West, Karen Rusty Fite, Jerry West, Krista Travis Gard and Cyndi Marty Scott West. eight great grandchildren , four great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Ken Woleab and Mick Parks will officiate with burial to follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday July 23, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Prospect United Methodist Church, 5759 W. New Market Rd., Hillsboro, OH 45133.
