Verla A Hodson

Verla A. Hodson, 79 years of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022.

Verla was born September 17, 1942, in Morehead, Ky., the daughter of the late Blanchard and Marie (Sparkman) Thomas. Beside her parents, Verla was preceded in death by her daughter, Johnna Reck, stepson, Daryl Hodson and sister, Donna Carol.

Verla was a 1960 graduate of Morehead High School. After graduation, Verla attended beauty school in Morehead and later attended Southern State Community College to receive her real estate license. Verla worked for the Hillsboro City Schools and was a Real Estate Agent in Highland County for several years.

Verla was a member of the Fall Creek Friends Church, member of the Women's USFW and the New Petersburg Social Civic Club. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and artwork.

On December 24, 1983, Verla was united in marriage to David L. Hodson whom survives; son, Michael (Joy) Prater of Ft. Wayne, IN., daughter, Nora Prater of Dayton, OH; two stepdaughters, Monica and Kela; brother, Darrell (Penny) Thomas of Morehead, KY; six grandchildren. six great grandchildren and a host of friends.

Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 A.M., April 2, 2022 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with H. Scott Latimer will officiating.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Family requests memorials to the Fall Creek Friends Church or Hospice of Hope Maysville.
