Vernon Coss, 79 years of Waynesville, formerly of Hillsboro, died Sunday, September 7, 2008 in Dayton, Ohio.
He was born June 6, 1929 the son of the late Vernon F. and Grace Brown Coss.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Necia Lea Shaw Coss whom passed away December 20, 1995.
Vernon was as carpenter, state building inspector, and work in the circulation department at the Times-Gazette. He also enjoyed coaching little league, coaching the championship team two years in a row.
He is survived by one son & daughter-in-law Rocky & Gayle Coss of Hillsboro, OH. Two daughters & son-in-laws Melody & Greg James of Hillsboro, OH, and Dorrie & Bill Keyes of Indianapolis, IN. Two brothers David Coss of Seaman, OH, and Roger Coss of Hillsboro, OH. Two sisters Betty Zonars of Troy, OH, and Frances Winert of Troy, OH. Five grandchildren Tracey Coss, Derek Coss, Bobby James, Tabitha Keyes, and Sarah Keyes. Two great grandchildren Shelby James, Skyler Murphy, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, OH with Rev. Chuck Shonkwiler officiating. Burial will follow in Bellbrook Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Dayton; 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
